Orient Policy Center Platforms

OPC PLATFORMS BUILDING STAGES

INVOLVED TEAMS

All departments of OPC; the research department, the data management department, the monitoring and MEL department (in some cases) and the technical/programming department, participate in building the platforms.

The objective of each platform in our center is to solve the problems of understanding, follow-up, and communication that our partners face throughout their project’s life cycle. The starting point of a platform may be an initiative from OPC to solve general problems facing one or several of our partners, or to solve a specific issue raised by one of our partners. All OPC departments cooperate together to find a solution to any problem.

WORKFLOW

The process may start with the research team or the MEL team, or with a joint effort by them both, depending on the nature of the problem. The team assigned to solve the problem begins by carrying out thorough desk-based research of the problem, applying certain research tools, and using the center’s database, in order to understand the main indicators that may solve the problem. Then, the research team, or the MEL team, divide each main indicator into smaller auxiliary indicators.
The research team works with an OPC analyst to find a mathematical way to link the auxiliary indicators with the main indicator. Then they organize these mathematical relations between the various indicators and test them several times in order to produce the final equation.
The final result the research team reaches is then sent to the technical programming team to be realized in a way that meets our partners’ expectations, satisfies them and helps solve the problem.

HOW DO PLATFORMS FACILITATE YOUR DAILY WORK?

  1. OPC’s platforms are designed to save our partners’ valuable time. When designing any platform, we always take our partners’ time into great consideration.
  2. Quick outreach to a large number of users, depending on the need of the partner, with various outreach permissions. This mechanism reduces the circle of daily traditional communication and guarantees its reach to all employees concerned.
  3. A simplified process of information projection, regardless of its complication, using advanced information technologies.
  4. Providing ready-made tools that can reduce the costs of project implementation compared to traditional means.
  5. Regular updates in response to the partner’s needs, provided on a daily, weekly or bimonthly basis etc.
  6. The platform enables partners to archive all results and to review any former stage of the project so that they can compare the results of the indicators monitored by the platform through different periods of time.
  7. The ability to export reports and excel sheets, simply by using the exporting feature, which produces results in a matter of seconds.
